Mississippi: Better Than Alabama

So we wake up this morning and loaf around the hotel room before heading out to New Orleans. We took the scenic route out of town so we could drive along the Gulf of Mexico and see Mom Schwind's hometown, Gulfport Mississippi.

The homes were SO AWESOME! Easily a cool $10 mil each, but the town is still rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina. I know we all think of New Orleans when we think of Katrina, but Gulfport got thoroughly wrecked too.

We had Po'Boys at Lil Ray's, and confirmed that some of the best restaurants really are located in strip malls. Then we stuck our feet in the Gulf of Mexico, just to say we had. No need to get all the way in. Its like bathwater.

We've just arrived in New Orleans -- thank you Dad Schwind, Mom Schwind and Katey for our champange and strawberries! We're enjoying them on our balcony overlooking Bourbon St.

Don't you wish you were us?
